2010 Font De La Figuera Blanco Priorat 91 points : Pale gold.  Fragrant bouquet evokes nectarine, orange zest, white flowers and honey.  Sappy, spice-accented orchard and pit fruit flavors show very good clarity and a juicy quality.  Energetic and focused on the finish, which lingers with impressive tenacity and spiciness.  This wine has the heft to work with rich foods and the energy to pair with lighter dishes as well.

2009 Font De La Figuera Priorat 90 points :  Saturated ruby. Expressive, spice-accented aromas of black raspberry and candied cherry, complicated by deeper notes of licorice and mocha and a hint of dried violet.  Pliant, open-knit dark berry flavors are underscored by smoky minerality.  Still quite primary but I suspect that this ripe, fleshy wine will be drinking very well shortly.

2008 Clos Figueres Priorat 92 points : Opaque ruby. Exotically perfumed bouquet evokes red and dark berries, incense, graphite and smoky herbs, with a sexy floral nuance gaining strength with air.  Juicy, penetrating and mineral-driven, with very good depth to its raspberry and bitter cherry flavors.  Leaves sappy floral pastille and spicecake notes behind on the very long, clinging finish.  Plenty rich but this wine shows very good vivacity and clarity.

We have all the white (Viognier, Garnacha Blanca and Chenin Blanc) in the cellar and the Syrah as well! This year the harvest is much earlier than other years, at least 10 days. The grape is very healthy, which makes us believe that 2011 will be a great vintage.

After numerous delays the long overdue Web Site for Clos Figueras is finally ready to go on line. We hope that this initiative will give you a better idea of what Clos Figueras is all about, more information about our wines and our phylosophy.

It is an active site and we will be posting information, photographs and positive press on a regular basis. Any comments and ideas are welcome.
