Clos Figueres with 70% Grenache and Carignan, from more than 60 years old vineyards, has become a reference among the leading Priorat estates. Both the 2001 and 2005 vintages were awarded 96 Points by the widely respected critic, Robert Parker. The wine shows remarkable elegance and polish. The perfect balance, classic minerality and bright acidity contribute to a great freshness and long term ageing potential.
The Font de la Figuera Tinto is produced predominantly from vineyards planted in 1998. It is a classic Priorat of complexity and charm. The high proportion of Grenache and Carignan allow for early drinking, but at the same time the wine has the fresh mineral characteristics of a great Priorat. Font de la Figuera has already become a reference for the Priorat at half the price of the most famous brands.
Serras del Priorat from younger vineyards is bottled after 9 months in cask capturing the glorious bright fresh fruit flavours for which the Priorat is so famous. The wine is ready for drinking soon after bottling and, due to the shorter ageing, is offered at a very reasonable price.
Font de la Figuera Blanco is made in small quantities. From 85% Viognier, a variety ideally suited to the schistous soils of the Priorat, a superb rich dry white wine is produced displaying the characteristic exotic fruit flavours of the variety combined with the refreshing minerality of the Priorat. Surprisingly for a Mediterranean white this wine has focus, balance and good acidity, giving an exceptional ageing potential of several years.
